This pasta cooking pot is perfect for cooking pasta in smaller venues ( you might be able to cook two pounds at a time). It drains well, but a little slowly; the convenience of being able to cook and drain with one pot outweighs the extra time and mess of using a collander. The handle latches are very useful! For me cooking pasta a couple of times a month, this $15 pot is perfect.

Hi ,I love this pot,it’s 5qt. And the Black Handles Closes down on the Glass Lid , and has small draining holes on two sizes of the lid ,so you don’t need an extra strainer, which is very easy to use and not a very big pot,so it’s not that heavy, and I only paid $15.00 ,so it was a great deal! I’ve used it for pasta, sauce, soups , ! 5qts size pot is a great medium size pot , that you can use for everything, cause I usually use an 8 Qt, and 10qt. , or 12qt. Pot, but I’m trying to be realistic, the bigger pots are heavy and their getting harder for me to carry, so I’m going to stick with my 8qt, and this 5qt. Red CopperBetter Pasta Pot, ! You can use this pot for anything and just close the black side handles down and hold them down with( safe hot pot holders) while your carrying this pot, that’s how you you use this pot, ! But make sure if your elderly , and you have this pot , just to be SAFE, ask for help, because SAFTEY is the most important thing in our lives, and I had to learn to give up my heavier pots because it just hurt my Back and I had to realize not to push myself, ok,
I mean well to all! Thanks K. Reddin
P.S. And sometimes my arms and hands just aren’t as strong as they use to be! Please be Safe!

I had a strainer pot for pasta, but it was cheap tin and the handle fell off after only using it a couple of times. I have nice larger expensive pasta pot with the lift out strainer, but it takes forever to boil, it is so big. This one is perfect. It is the perfect size, boils quickly, is non stick and the locking lid feature to pour works great! It has two strainer sides for larger and smaller food items. The only drawback is, you have to be careful when pouring the water out that you don’t get burned by the water or steam, but this is true with any type of strainer pot of this size with attached handles. I wish they made a smaller sauce pan just like this one.

Boiled a 16oz package of penne pasta. Cooked like any other pot would. The best part of this pot is the strainer lid and easy clean up. Small amount of hot soapy water, swirled around then dry out with a towel. The handles do get hot so use pot holders. One draw back is it’s too small to add the pasta back to the pot and stir in other ingredients. Still had to use the big pot to do this, then poor into a casserole dish so another dirtied pot. However the larger pot was very easy to clean as it was not used on the stove. Also, not having to use a strainer is a huge plus. The larger pot is too heavy to carry to the sink to drain for this old lady’s back.

Used my better pasta pot & the smaller pot for the first time this evening. Made home made mac & cheese (Velveeta cheese) in the pot & clean up was so easy. Just used my sponge & dish soap no soaking required like my old ceramic pots & pans. Love this set… Have the entire collection. Can’t wait to see what else they come out with. Now just need an electric red copper griddle/grill.

Ugh- my original review disappeared! I am a big fan of this pot. I make pasta dishes and soups with it. It is the perfect size and I am able to lift it to drain it, which I was concerned about because I am disabled. Nothing sticks and it is a great size.

I love this thing! With my old, regular pot, I was always struggling to hold the lid partly on while pouring out the boiling water, trying not to get burned by the steam. Now I just lock the lid on, hold it by the handles, and that’s it. No slipping lid, no slithering spaghetti escaping, no scalded hands!

I like mine so much, I bought one for my sister, too. My pasta-cooking Neapolitan grandma would definitely approve.
